Reading
We have been
rotating through the components of Daily 5.
I have been meeting with groups of kids working on reading strategies.
Each child will
have a calendar in their Book Bag to write down the assignment for reading that
night. I usually recommend 15 minutes of
reading per night.
Math
In math, students will
be thinking about addition number sentences and joining numbers together. We
will also talk about turn-arounds(fact families).
Reminders
It is getting
colder outside! Please make sure your
child has the appropriate attire for recess time.
Halloween Carnival October 25 - 3:00-5:00
Fall Party
Fall is filled
with many different traditions and holidays.
Friday, October 31st is Halloween. We are planning some
learning centers and a very short party in the afternoon. Students may bring in a “trick or treating”
snack for the class, if they would like to. Students do not have to bring something. Students may bring their costume and change
into it, but only during the party. The
costumes should be non-violent and safe to wear. We will play some fun Fall activities during
our party as well.
