Math

In math, students have been working with and exploring beginning addition and subtracting strategies. We will be relaying these tactics to bigger numbers.

Reading

Reading groups are meeting about every day.  The assignment for that night will be written on their Guided Reading calendar, which is located in their book bag.

I usually suggest 15 minutes of reading or the picture book that is written down on their calendar.

Reminders

No School – Monday, November 3rd  – teacher workshop!

Late Start- November11th

It is getting colder outside!  Please make sure your child has the appropriate attire for recess time.

Math fact practice, on the bottom of your child’s book bag calendar there is a section to indicate in which way to work on your child’s math facts. I ask that you try to work on math facts with your child four days out of the week.  Some choices are: website (there are links on my webpage), Oral Drills (this could be shouting some math problems out in the car, etc), or working on Flash Cards (I will be sending some home or feel free to use some that you may have as well).  Thanks for your assistance with this initiative to better students’ fluency with math facts!
