Writing

We have been thinking and writing about personal narratives.

Reading

I will be meeting with reading groups’ and working with them on strategies specific to a reading skill.  Each child should be bringing home a Guided Reading recording sheet with his/her assignment.  Some of the books sent home may be a little longer or a bit newer to the student, which may make the book a challenge.  I usually suggest that the child finishes his/her book that is written on the calendar for that night or if the book is longer have the child read for 10-15 minutes.  The goal is to make reading enjoyable!

Reminders

  • No School November 27th and 28th.
  • Grades 1-3 Holiday Concert- December 4th 6:30pm.

Math fact practice, on the bottom of your child’s book bag calendar there is a section to indicate in which way to work on your child’s math facts. I ask that you try to work on math facts with your child four days out of the week.  Some choices are: website (there are links on my webpage), Oral Drills (this could be shouting some math problems out in the car, etc), or working on Flash Cards (I will be sending some home or feel free to use some that you may have as well).  Thanks for your assistance with this initiative to better students’ fluency with math facts!
