Math

We have just started working on addition and subtraction concepts in money situations.

Reading

Be sure your child is reading about every night from his/her book bag.  One of our big focuses is making inferences or using clues from the text to figure out a main point or author’s thought.

Science

We just finished thinking about motion with our Top project!  Next, the class will be starting research of an animal of their choosing.  Each project will deal with habitat, food and adaptations of that particular animal.

Reminders

It is getting damp outside!  Please send an extra set of clothes for your child to keep in his/her locker in-case wetness happens!

Spring Break – March 30-April 3 –School resumes April 6.

Reading

We have been working hard at adding new strategies to our repertoire of tools for reading. We are practicing a strategy to solve words called Flip the Sound. I did send a Parent Pipeline Sheet last week with more information about this strategy. If you would like a new one, please don’t hesitate to ask.

The kids should be bringing home a book about every night.  Your child should read about fifteen minutes, but feel free to encourage more than that as well.

Literature Equation

Read+Read+Read+Read+Read= a better reader!
