We did some realistic fiction thinking and writing.   



Math

We will be starting a unit that deals with double-digit addition.


Reading


Each student should be bringing home his or her book bag about every night.  Please check with your child about their reading assignment.

We are focusing on the skill of Sequencing.  We clue in on these steps by using special signal words like: first, last, then and now.

Math

Students will be finishing work on mental subtraction and then will move to thinking about double digit addition with regrouping!

Reading

Books should be coming home about every night.  A good way to check for comprehension is to sit down and have a short “book talk” with your child about what they read.  One of our strategies is asking: Who was it about and What happened?

Writing


In writing, we just started working on identifying realistic fiction and we will start composing our own fiction-based stories.
